The prenatal risk assessment (also called the "triple screen") is a group of assays (AFP, BHCG and unconjugated Estriol (uE3)) in conjunction with prenatal risk assessment software to calculate risk for Down's Syndrome, Trisomy 18, and Neural tube defects. The testing is performed on a serum sample collected between weeks 15-21 (15 weeks 0 days to 20 weeks 6 days) of gestation. |
