-Usually round to oval cells with round to oval nuclei which may occasionally be cleft. -Nuclei often contain nucleoli and the chromatin is typically fine and lacy (but less so than in myeloblasts). -The N:C ratio varies from 7:1 to 4:1. -The cytoplasm varies in quantity, stains moderately basophilic and usually agranular (vacuoles may be present). -Note: In absence of cytochemistries or flow cytometery, blasts cells cannot be differentiated by cell line. |
