-The cells mimic the netrophils in size shape and nuclear maturation. -Characterized by small to moderate number of coarse, densely stained granules of different sizes and shapes. -The color of the granules is bluish-black but some may stain purple or purple-red. -The granules are unevenly distributed and frequently overlie the nucleus. |
