Important notes: Submit stool in sterile jar. Specimen will be cultured for VRE only. No more than one specimen will be accepted per day. Positive cultures will not be repeated in less than one week.
Rejection criteria: Unlabeled or mislabeled specimen; more than one per day
Transportation notes: within 2 hr, RT
Specimen preparation: All specimens for Microbiology must be submitted ASAP to maximize bacterial yield.
