Important notes: Use this test for routine throat cultures. Do Not order C/S AEROBIC for throat cultures. Throat culture is screened for Beat hemolytic streptococci only. For GC culture of throat, order GC CULTURE.
Rejection criteria: Unlabeled or mislabeled specimen
Transportation notes: within 24hr RT
Specimen preparation: All specimens for Microbiology must be submitted ASAP to maximize bacterial recovery.
