Important notes: Use this test is for all routine bacteriology cultures without a gram stain. Specimen source MUST be indicated. Any special organism request must be specified in COMMENT field. Do not use this test for Throat, GC, or Respiratory specimens. Do not order this test and Anaerobe (ANAEROBIC AND AEROBIC CULTURE W/GRAM STAIN)
Rejection criteria: Unlabeled or mislabeled specimen, leaking container
Transportation notes: within 24 hr RT
Specimen preparation: All specimens for Microbiology must be submitted ASAP to maximize bacterial recovery.
