Important notes: Two tube technique may be necessary for complicated draws. Blue top must be properly filled. Requires consult. Submit consult form with patient history, physician name and beeper number.
Rejection criteria: Clotted specimens or improperly filled blue top tubes.
Transportation notes:
Specimen preparation: Spin properly filled blue top in COAG centrifuge. Remove the plasma and freeze in Send Out Freezer. Fill out Specimen Save form and bag with specimen.
