Important notes: Requires special CDC History forms available in Bacteriology (903-4146). Specimen is sent to CDC, 3-6 weeks turnaround. Use this test to request one of the following: Amoeba (Entamoeba histolytica), Cysticercosis, Echinococcus, Filariasis, Plasmodium (Malaria), Strongyloides, Trichinella, Trypanasoma cruzi (Chag's Disease), Toxocara (Visceral Larvae Migrans), Cat Scratch (Bartonella), Clostridium botulinum, Ehrlichia, Psittacosis and Hanta virus.
Rejection criteria: CDC History Form not submitted, Unlabeled or Mislabeled specimen
Transportation notes: within 24 hr RT
