- Retired microscope body and objectives- we use retired American Optics (Series 10) microscopes from the 1970's. We have successfully tested the camera with other microscopes.
- Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000- Other web cameras might work but this one has been tested in our lab. Retail is about $100.00 but academic discounts are available. Expect to pay about $75.00 with the discount.
- Four inch plastic electrical cover plate - These are available in the home electrical department of your hardware store for about $.80 each. You will need two.
- Adapter bushing for drain pipe. For this application, a 2 inch to 1 inch adapter bushing will work the best (but the 3 inch to 2 inch will also work). You will find this in the plumbing department for about $2.00.
- Machine screws - 8 X32 - 2.5 inches long. About $.30 each at the hardware store.
- Silicone sealant- a small tube will do. About $3.00.
