It is the policy of the Interim Louisiana State University (LSU) Public Hospital, also known as and hereafter referred to as the Medical Center of Louisiana or MCL, to require all employees, physicians, students, clinical affiliates, training affiliates, contract workers and volunteers to wear appropriate identification badges at all times while on MCL premises and to present their identification (I.D.) badges when requested. The display of an MCL I.D. badge identifies individuals as employees, physicians, students, clinical affiliates, training affiliates, contract workers or volunteers. Behavior, actions and activities shall always exemplify the Mission, Vision, Code of Ethical Behavior, Code of Conduct, Core Values and Employee Expectations.

The Department of Human Resources shall issue official I.D. badges to employees, physicians, students, clinical affiliates, training affiliates, contract workers and volunteers. Contract workers are allowed to display their company I.D. badge instead of an MCL I.D. badge if the badge has a picture of the contract worker. Physicians, students, clinical affiliates and training affiliates are allowed to display I.D. badges from their medical school and/or educational institution instead of an MCL I.D. badge if the I.D. badge has a picture of the physician, student, clinical affiliate or training affiliates and is from an educational institution affiliated with the Medical Center of Louisiana.

Please refer to ILH Policy 8129 - Displaying Appropriate Identification I.D. Badge
