The Classification / Compensation section is dedicated to ensuring that all positions within the hospital are allocated accurately and position descriptions are updated as outlined by Civil Service Rules. We also serve as consultants to hospital employees in matters affiliated with classification and compensation.

The Classification / Compensation section of Human Resources administers the development, implementation, and maintenance of LSU Health Interim LSU Public Hospital's classification, compensation and pay programs for all Civil Service classified and HCSD unclassified positions. This includes the development and adjustment of competitive salary ranges, the establishment and updating of position descriptions, and the classification of jobs and pay policies for the agency.
