University Hospital Trauma Team
The Trauma Program at Medical Center of Louisiana has a long history of providing care to critically injured trauma patients in this area of the state. The Trauma Team requires the cohesive medical approach of physicians, nurses, technicians, therapists, and ancillary staff to assure that the trauma patient is evaluated, resuscitated and treated expeditiously and appropriately.
 


LSU Interim Hospital at New Orleans, a Level 1 Trauma Center which is fully verified by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.

LSU Interim Hospital is the only Level 1 Trauma Center servicing the New Orleans Metropolitan area. We are pleased to provide optimal Trauma Care to the following parishes: Orleans, Jefferson, St Bernard, Plaquemines and St Charles. Our commitment to providing outstanding Trauma Care along with research, teaching, prevention and our award winning outreach programs aid in the promotion of injury control. The Trauma Center is in the process of expanding our catchment and venturing into telemedicine capabilities. With these advancements, our scope of services will provide outstanding Trauma Care to all of the LSU Health Care Services Division hospitals.
