The Trauma Team requires the cohesive medical approach of physicians, nurses, technicians, therapists, and ancillary staff to assure that the trauma patient is evaluated, resuscitated and treated expeditiously and appropriately. |

Interim LSU Public Hospital at New Orleans, a Level 1 Trauma Center which is fully verified by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
Our Trauma Center has been officially renamed The Spirit of Charity Trauma Center. We are the only verified Level 1 Trauma Center in South Louisiana. We provide optimal Trauma Care to the following (10) parishes: Orleans, Jefferson, St Bernard, Plaquemines, St Charles, St James, St John, St Tammany, Washington and Tangipahoa. Our outstanding dedication and commitment to patient care, lives on as we regain our identity as a leader in the care of the injured. Our Trauma Center offers high level care that involves multiple disciplines and begins at the scene of the injury and follows through to the rehabilitation process. The Spirit of Charity Trauma Center remains the industry leader in trauma education, research and outreach/prevention efforts.
